Marco Letizia

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Machine Learning Genoa Center, in the Statistical and Computational Learning Lab led by Lorenzo Rosasco.

The bulk of my research activity is dedicated to the development of efficient machine learning algorithms for high energy physics. In particular, I have been working on hypothesis testing for signal-agnostic new physics searches and generative models for fast simulations.

I received my PhD in Astroparticle Physics from SISSA (International School for Advanced Studies), under the supervision of Stefano Liberati. During the first part of my career I studied quantum fields in discrete Lorentzian geometries motivated by Causal Set Theory. I also worked on models of modified gravity inspired by different quantum gravity scenarios.

Check out my INSPIRE webpage to see all my publications and preprints.
A semi-curated list can also be found in my google scholar profile.

The code for my work on fast machine learning-based testing can be found here (currently under revision).
